Bob Troutt’s real estate career began with an idea. To build a large, affordable golf course community within the city of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and that the golf facility would be available not only to residents, but to the public as well. That idea began in 1996 and has since become the largest and best known community in Jonesboro — Sage Meadows, population 1,300 residents and climbing!

Today, I am one of the leading real estate agents in Northeast Arkansas and, within ERA, within the country as well. In 2009, I was named as one of the top 200 agents nationwide within ERA for number of units sold. I was recognized at the ERA International Business Conference during “parade march” at the beginning of the event and a dinner at it’s conclusion. I was also named “Rookie of the Year” for 2008 by the Jonesboro Board of Realtors, one of two major awards given by the board each year. I have been consistantly one of the top 25 agents in Jonesboro for the 3+ years I have been an agent in total sales and one of the top ERA agents in the state in sales and number of units sold.

I am also a licensed residential contractor within the State of Arkansas and have contracted and built more than 80 homes. As a developer and a prinicipal in Sage Meadows Development Company, Bobcat Trail and KEB Inc., I was part of a team that developed Sage Meadows in Jonesboro, Arkansas and Bobcat Trail, Plantation Estates and Bobcat Commercial Center, all in North Port Florida. That company also built two golf courses, Sage Meadows Golf Course in Jonesboro and Bobcat Trail Country Club in North Port.

At this time, I am also the owner of RWT Land Development LLC, the developers of Wildwood subdivision in Jonesboro, a community that will ultimately hold 154 budget friendly homes. Sage Builders LLC, my building company, has built a number of homes there as well.

Prior to my real estate ventures, I was an owner and publisher of our family owned newspaper, The Jonesboro Sun. The Sun was the runner up for the Pulitzer Prize in 1997 for its coverage of the Westside School shootings. Our family owned the newspaper for 100 years and I was involved for more than 25 years in various positions including photographer, reporter and assistant publisher. Our family sold The Sun in October of 2000.

I am married to the former Pam Riggs, daughter of longtime coach and athletic director Don Riggs, and have two children, Scott Troutt and Amanda Herringer. I am a lifelong resident of Jonesboro, a 1976 graduate of Jonesboro High School and a 1981 graduate of Arkansas State University.

Bowling has always been my passion and I am the holder of many state and regional bowling titles in addition to 16 sanctioned 300 games and 3 800 series. I am also a single digit handicap golfer, a licensed pilot and enjoy snow skiing.
