NATIONAL OPEN HOUSE WEEKEND

It’s a Great Time to Visit an Open House

Preparing for Open House

The spring buying season has begun, and this year potential buyers can take advantage of plentiful inventory and record-breaking housing affordability conditions. To kick off the season and bring buyers and sellers together, ERA Doty Real Estate is participating in Realtor® Nationwide Open House Weekend on April 28-29.

During the weekend Realtors® across the country will hold thousands of open houses from coast to coast, aiming to focus attention on the benefits of homeownership for individuals, families, communities and our nation’s economy. This event is also an opportunity for Realtors® to connect with consumers in the local community about the housing issues that matter most to them.

“Realtors® will hold open houses in various neighborhoods throughout Northeast Arkansas this weekend to provide guidance for potential buyers and answer questions about the local housing market, as well as the home buying and selling process,” said Donna Throesch-Loveless. “If you are interested in purchasing a home, visiting open houses is a great way to get an idea of what you can afford in certain neighborhoods, as well as a taste for what is on the market.”

The National Association of Realtors®2011 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers shows that 45 percent of all buyers used open houses as a source in their home search process.

NAR also recently reported that more renters than ever aspire to become homeowners and an overwhelming majority of Americans believe buying a home is a solid financial decision. Homeownership is even more attractive now with housing affordability conditions reaching their highest level since recordkeeping began in 1970.

“The housing market may not have fully recovered yet, but it’s showing signs of improvement and for many buyers, now really is a great time to purchase a home,” said Loveless “Buyers who are willing and able to take on the responsibilities of homeownership can begin their home search process by attending Realtor® Nationwide Open House Weekend and learn more about homeownership and local housing issues.”

WELCOME HOME, KYLE

Doty Real Estate is happy to announce its newest teamERA member, Kyle Nichols.  Already off to a great start with a career in Real Estate Sales, here is what Kyle has to say:

“I am a very proud product of Jonesboro.  I attended Jonesboro Public Schools for my education from the first year the Kindergarten Center started, all the way through to graduating as a Hurricane!  My college years didn’t take me far from home, as I attended Arkansas State University where I earned a degree in Exercise Physiology.  I was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and played rugby.

After graduation, I had a short stent as a strength and conditioning coach with the Colorado Rockies Baseball Organization before heading to West Plains, Missouri to work on the family cattle ranch and dairy operation and to coach high school baseball.

I have a 4 year old son named Cooper, whom I am very excited to get into Jonesboro Schools for their caring and dedicated teachers and the state power athletics.

It is an exciting time to be back home…in the town I love…to raise my son and launch a new career.  I would love to show you what makes this area so special, that you and yours may come to love it as much as I do!”

If you would like to talk to Kyle about your real estate needs, email kyle@dotyproperties.com.  If you’d like more infomation on joining our team of real estate professionals at ERA Doty Real Estate, please follow this video link or call us at (870) 268-0155!  A Career with ERA Doty Real Estate

IF AGING HAD A FACE, IT WOULD WEAR LIPSTICK!

While stereotypes often portray older women as a homogeneous group, age 50+ women are probably more diverse than any other age group for either gender.  Not only do the terms elderly, senior and older include women whose ages span more than four decades, these terms encompass groups of women who vary widely in terms of income, educational attainment, health functional abilities, living arrangements, and access to support services.

Women are the majority of caregivers, yet so many times we do not think to care for ourselves, especially when it comes to our real estate plans and future housing needs.  We do make plans when it comes to health and financial issues, so why not with real estate needs and future housing concerns?

Did You Know?

According to the latest statistics from the Administration on Aging, America is growing older and many older Americans are women. Consider these facts: [Read more...]

Selling Your Home During the Holidays

It is understandable why sellers are tempted to take their homes off the market between Thanksgiving and the New Year as they celebrate with family and friends (and figure prospective buyers are doing the same).  The Realtors at ERA Doty Real Estate think the holidays are one of the most opportunistic times to capture buyers and here are some of the reasons why:
